Dim Sum @ Hong Kee Restaurant, Taipan USJ

Porridge ~ The only decent food here.

Foo Chok ~ Crappy, barely warm & not crispy at all.

Ladyfinger ~ Okay.

Shumai with Crabstick ~ So So.

Shumai ~ So So.

Har Gaw ~ So So.

Wrapped Bacon ~ Bacon is okay.

Fishball ~ Bleahh.

Fried Radish Cake ~ Okay.

I mentioned a couple of times that I don't like dim sum because it's expensive and not nice, I was dragged here by mom obviously. The only place for dim sum that I approve of is Tao Chinese Cuisine at Intercontinental Hotel. One you have tried Tao, other dim sums are horrible. Hong Kee dim sum is so bad compared to them. Of course Tao is more expensive but totally worth it.

I'm not sure how Hong Kee charges their dimsum, there's dim sum price of RM1.90, RM4, RM5.30 & RM7. Ours was marked from RM4 till RM7, and the total bill is RM49.70. For that amount of money I could have eat something much better, nicer & more filling. Apologies but I really do have something against bad dim sum.

Dim Sum @ JYT Restaurant, Taipan USJ

Deep Fried Beancurd with Shrimps (RM 5.50) ~ Not bad.

Mixed Rice Rolls: Char Siew/Prawn (RM 5) ~ There's 6 pieces, technically it should be 3 pieces with Char Siew and another 3 with Prawn. But 5 pieces are with Char Siew and only 1 with Prawn. Even that the Char Siew & Prawn are so little & tiny.

Har Gaw (RM 5.50) ~ Nice.

Siu Mai with Fish Roe (RM 4.80) ~ Nice.

Each of the dim sum that we order is enough to buy you a meal say a bowl of Pan Mee. Instead of having 4 bowls enough to feed 4 people we had dim sum which is not even enough to make 2 person full. It's nice to eat dim sum once in a while but not often, it's really pricey. We were waiting quite a while before we got serve and the restaurant was only filled with a handful of people.

Restoran Tmn Million Batu Tiga @ Jalan Ipoh

Dim Sum is expensive.

Porridge ~ Not bad.

I'm always curious what's to like about dim sum, tried it a couple of times, kinda normal. The only awesome dim sum that I've had so far was the one in Intermark but of course it's pricey but for the ambiance & awesome dim sum I'll pay.

Tao Chinese Cuisine @ Intercontinental Hotel

Awesome entrance; this way to dim sum people.

Very fancy for a dim sum restaurant.

Carrot Cake ~ Delicious.

Chee Cheong Fun ~ Not bad.

The prawn inside is really good.

Crispy & I love the prawn fillings inside.

Haha!

I didn't get the name of most of the dim sum, Carrie was the one who ordered it. Didn't have time to ask, only had one hour lunch so I thought its best that I get pictures; that's more important. I never fancied dim sum, I find it rather expensive. If the normal coffee shop is expensive, wait till you are here. But I dare say the dim sum is really good; way better than any other places I've tasted and it's not because of the price.
